Today is actually the one year anniversary of when I officially opened the doors to Dramione and all the wonders of Dramione fanfiction, and I have to give all props and kudos to RZZMG who wrote the amazing story Second Chances.

I’ve been reading Harry Potter since I was 10 when the first book came out, and I’ve been reading fanfiction since I was 12, but for some reason I couldn’t read Harry Potter fanfiction until the books ended. I (similar to my Dair experience) became aware of Dramione many years before I ever considered it for myself.

It wasn’t until two years ago that I began reading Harry Potter fanfiction, I had just finished another reread of Deathly Hallows and something struck a cord with my in the epilogue and I fell in love with the idea of Scorpius and Rose. The second chance (pun intended) that Draco and Hermione didn’t get. I felt like that was JK’s way of catering to the fandom even just a little.

For a year I read and wrote many Scorose fanfics and when I stumbled upon Second Chances, in the first Aside I fell in love with the Draco and Hermione back story and from there I went on to read much more of RZZMG’s work and thus entered the dramione fandom. If she hadn’t had that aside or backstory, I don’t know how long it would have taken me to join the wonderful world of dramione.
