Ah Laurel… Well first off I should start with how I experienced Laurel. I somehow missed Freshmeat II, and so my first time seeing Laurel was on Cutthroat. I didn’t care one way or the other about her for most of the season. She was just a girl who said some pretty random and sometimes mean things, but I was more focused on other characters.

She became memorable for her rant against Big Easy that came out of no where for no reason and for how much she shit talked Cara Maria. I found myself rolling my eyes more and more but for the most part I didn’t care about her one way or the other.

It wasn’t until Rivals that I really began to pay attention to her, and at first she wasn’t on my radar, but I was happy her and Cara were able to work together so well and become a great partnership. I really started to like her this season. Its hilarious because I had no idea about her relationship with Kenny (due to having missed FM2) and so it was right before the Paula rant when she was in Cara protection mode when this conversation happened:

Kenny: What the fuck happened?
Laurel: What the fuck happened? Get the fuck out!
Kenny: Me?
Laurel: Yeah!
Kenny: Shut up!

(an all time favorite moment of mine) that I realized they had a history, and that caused me to go back and watch Freshmeat II, during which I fell in love with not just Laurel but Kenny and their bond. As the automatic shipper I am I instantly began to wish they’d be together, but I just cant wait to watch more seasons with the two of them. I still now after seeing it all can say that I loved Laurel in Freshmeat II, hated her in Cutthroat, loved her in Rivals, so I suppose the main connection there is that Kenny was around for the seasons I did like her. I think he had a good influence on her, and I like that he has her back.

I’m very curious, if they are both on the next season and if Paula is back how the dynamic will be. Plus the fact that Evelyn is Laurels friend, it’ll be a curious dynamic to watch unfold. For now I love Laurel, cant wait to see how the tides will change.
